Thanksgiving, a Wedding, and Random Paris

3

So, our wedding is Saturday night. We have spent the last four days running all over Hattiesburg. Tonight, we met with our photographer David, who is awesome by the way. He made us both feel very comfortable and at peace with our decision to use him for our wedding. We spent most of the day trying to find clothes to wear for the rehearsal dinner and at the last minute I realized that I had no dress shoes and Jaeyoun needed a cardigan, so we had to go back to the mall! We will get up in the morning and help my mother cook, have Thanksgiving dinner and then drive to the Jackson airport to pick up Jaeyoun’s mother, father, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew. We will then come back to our house for dessert and coffee. Jaeyoun and I will also open some of our wedding presents when everyone is together. We have been averaging about 1-2 a day and have a bunch to open~!!~

I also am working on a speech that I am going to give at the rehersal dinner. I want to do it in both Korean and English, so I am having Jaeyoun proof my Korean. It would probably be more authentic if I just tried to wing it, but I really want them to be able to understand me.

We still have not figured out what we are going to do with her parents on Friday. We really don’t have enough time to go anywhere and there is really not much for them to see here in Hattiesburg.

I still have tons of Paris photos to process and upload. Here are few of my favorites from our day at the Muse de Orsay.

Random Paris Photos Day 1-3

2

My computer sorted my photos based on North American time, so I can’t recall exactly when I shot most of these.  I believe most of them are from Day 3 when we visited the tower and walked around Trocadero.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of all the gypsies asking us if we speak English.  I always brushed them off and never knew exactly what they wanted besides money.  There was also a hustler who tried to pull the ole you dropped a ring trick.  I nearly kicked him as he was that close to me.  We also walked over to Hotel des  Invalides which was beautiful.  The leaves were blowing everywhere and I am going to have to dig through my files to find some more shots.

Korea to Paris Day 2

crossstone-copyaltarnotreJJandthearcNotredame1FinishedallroadstomboftheunknowsoldierhealthyguystouristspotWe were so tired that we went to bed right after dinner on Monday night.  We literally didn’t even say good night to each other.  I believe that I was actually asleep before I took off my shoes.

We started day 2 before sunrise.  We both woke up before 7 without alarm. I guess that is pretty easy to do when you go to bed before 8pm.  We started by heading to Champs-Elysees and the Arc de Trimumph.  It was raining and we we were getting cold, so we started to look for a place to have a coffee. Lo and behold we came across the green circle.  Starbucks was a nice find, but way too damn expensive.

We spent awhile at the Arc and then walked all the way down the Champs-Elysees to the Louvre.  It was a pretty good walk and led to us being pretty tired the rest of the day.  We then went back to Notre Dame and had lunch near the river in a small cafe.  We was pretty surreal eating lunch and watching people go by with Notre Dame and the Seine right outside the window.  I had the biggest and best club sandwich that I have ever tasted.  They used a few different cheeses and it was unbelievable.  We left here and went inside of Notre Dame where we took some photos and lit a candle for JJ’s mom.(who is much better now! Ahhhh the power of prayer)  We also did some shopping and checked out Saint Estauch????? I believe.  We were so tired that we got KFC for dinner and then were asleep by 9.  I will give a full review of our hotel in a later post. If you are looking to save some money on your trip to Paris, then do I do where you need to stay…..

Paris Day 1

We left from Seoul on Sunday and arrived in Paris on Monday morning at around 6am. We spent 7 hours wandering around the Kuala Lumpur airport before arriving at CDG. Once we arrived in Paris, we picked up two metro cards that would cover us for the full week. This was the only time we had to visit a ticket office and it more than paid off.

We went straight to our hotel dropped off our bags and went out to find something to eat and walk around Notre Dame. Here are a few photos from Day 1.
