Hi JJ and JR, I enjoyed your writing especially re Tropical Isle. Which musician is your friend? We like to get the feedback from our customers. Yes, the crowd timing was different for us also. There was New Year’s Eve, Sugar Bowl, Saints Playoff and BCS so the hotels had different minimum stays for the events apparently. It was great that you were able to help the Koreans. My business partner (Earl Bernhardt) and I opened the first Tropical Isle Dec 15, 1984 and introduced the Hand Grenade in 1987. We introduced the Skinny Hand Grenade in January 2012 and the “Skinny Grenade has the same punch but it has a third of the “sugar and calories” Earl is originally from Hattiesburg and still has ties there, he was the Morning DJ for many years as “Earl Hart and his pal Rowser the Rooster”. Mimsie, Too bad you did not find my blog before now. We could have fixed your need for Korean food. There are actually a large number of Koreans in Hattiesburg, and we get together quite often for Korean barbeques. . I just visited your blog, and it looks like you are having a great time! Hi! I can’t believe I’m just finding your blog. I attended Southern Miss, as well, and have been teaching English in Seoul for the past couple years. I was home in Mississippi in December and tried to recreate samgyeopsal… unfortunately my version of Korean food didn’t turn out half as well as yours did. I keep a blog about Korea, as well. Will add you to my blog roll. Take care!

You would probably be surprised at how cheap some of those southern nhl teams are. At one point Florida was like $25, but that included parking and dinner. LA had a deal on a couple years back where your ticket got you into the concert across the road after – The Tragically Hip! Totally worth checking into at least!
