Project 55
Feb 12th
Project 35 45 55is now going on strong. Thanks to a month of my grandmother’s good Southern cooking I had to up the weight loss plan. There are about 47 weeks left in 2010 and the goal is to be down to 195 by December 31.

Inspiration
I thought that I was overweight in the above photo that was taken in Busan, Korea in 2006. I lost about 65 pounds when I moved to Korea and now have put back on about 45-55 of those pounds. Also my waist size has gotten bigger and I keep asking JJ why did how buy so many skinny jeans from Korea. Unfortunately, they were not skinny jeans 6 months ago.
Outline of Project 55
- Little or no fast food-Easy- JJ and I have started cooking again.
- 45min-1 hour of Cardio 6 times per week-Slightly Difficult-I get lazy.
- No sweets-Difficult-I love chocolate, pie, cake, icecream and all other sweets.
- Weight Training 3 times per week-Slightly Difficult-I still need to join a gym and I get bored with lifting weights.
- Healthy Snacks-Easy-but JJ and I need to do a better job grocery shopping.
- 8 glasses of water a day-Easy- I just need to remember to drink them.
- Little to no fried food-Difficult-I live in the South and everything is fried.
- More fruits and vegetables. Easy-Just need to shop better.
- Join Men’s Health Belly Off Club-Easy.-Done-Just to follow up.
- Portion Control-Slightly Difficult- I just need the will power.
Once JJ and I move into our apartment it will get easier. My parents tend to keep a good amount of junk food in the house and it is very tempting for me to walk by and not grab something to munch on. I also will join a gym next week. It is way too easy for me to cut down the workout when I try to work out at home. My plan is to have a Wednesday Weight-In/Project 55 update post every week on Wednesday. I know that I can do it; I just gotta stick with the plan.
Today’s weight is 250.
Extreme Makeover Hattiesburg, MS
Dec 11th
My brother lives right down from the latest Extreme Makeover home. The construction has been ongoing for past week. I have never seen the show, but it has been a huge deal around Hattiesburg. My brother and his wife were sitting at home one night when the part of the crew knocked on their door and apologized for the mess and the noise. They invited them to walk down to the tents for their meals for the rest of the week. My sister-in-law has been taking full advantage of that:) I have been wanting to get down to the site and check out the house. I worked at the Sheriff’s Office with the winner of the makeover many years ago. His name is Sherman Heathcock and although we were not close, I always remember him being a good guy. I do know that he was flown back from Iraq to be involved in the show. For more information you can check out the Extreme Hattiesburg Website.
We walked down there today to see the moving of the bus. Well, we actually saw them move the bus in practice but they were taking so long that we decided to head back to my brother’s house for some warmth! We did run into a couple of celebrities. Christian Slater who helped with construction and Ty Pennington ,the host of the show were on the scene. I was able to get a few photos. There were people everywhere and we were able to slip past security and get pretty close to the action. We actually made two trips to the site today. The second time we went there were way too many people and were not able to see anything, so we headed back after getting cold.

The house seen on the left looks great. I am glad that they did not build something huge that would stick out in a neighborhood of somewhat smaller houses.

This is what it looked like when we arrived the second time. You could really see anything.
We can’t wait to see what it looks like on the inside and are looking forward to seeing the episode when it airs in March.
Ryan’s Assignment
Oct 15th
My buddy Ryan was given an assignment from one of his teachers to create a marketing video. They get a higher score depending on how many hits their video gets. Check it out when you have the time!
