About

Although I grew up in Indianola, MS, I have lived all over Mississippi and also spent about 6 months living in Yellowstone.  I spent two years teaching Law, Geography, World History, and English. I also spent 4 years living in Korea teaching English as a second language. I met my wife in Korea, and although we loved our life in Korea, we moved back to Mississippi to go back to school to work on graduate degrees at the University of Southern Mississippi.  JJ is working on an M.S. in Math, and I am working on my Master of Arts in Teaching Languages with an emphasis in TESOL.  I have an assistantship with the athletic department, where I am an academic mentor for athletes.  I also teach classes at the English Language Institute here at USM.  We will both graduate in May of 2012 and are excited about our future life, even though we don’t know where we will be or what we will be doing.

I enjoy meeting people from other countries and learning about their native language and culture, and I think this is what first drew me to teaching English as a second language.

I bought my first DSLR in November of 2008, and I try to take photos as often as possible.   I have neglected studying my Korean, so that I could study photography. It has been a hobby that I have really been able to throw myself into. I am constantly trying to learn as much as possible about every aspect of it. You can check out my photography page here.

I have also resumed my Korean language studies. Check out my Korean Language page here.  One day, JJ (my wife ) and I will move back to Korea, and I really want to increase my ability to converse and function in Korea without the help of a translator. 안녕하세요. 저의 이름은 제이슨입니다. 한국어를 그 동안 공부를 했지만 유창하지는 못합니다.  I also started studying Arabic and although I have made little progress, I plan on spending more time learning this language in 2012.  I have an Arabic page here, but as of now, it is incomplete.

JJ and I both love to travel and hopefully will be able to see as much of North America as possible while we are living here. Check out the list here!

Between school, work, and studying Korean, I really don’t get a chance to update this blog as often as I would like.  I spend more time on Twitter, and you can find me here.

Got a question or comment for me? email me at jasonroberts1000 {a} gmail.com.

Cheers,
Jason

    Hi,

This is a wonderful blog! It was a very good read.

I was wondering if you would be interested in guest blogging on my blog. It is a collection of my travels and the travels of my guests. If you scan the site you can see that now almost 100% of the posts are from guests. Lately I’ve been finding many people interested in guest posting.

Included in your post will be a link to your website using whatever anchor text or key words you wish and a description of your site (if you choose to include one.)

My blog (onetravel.wordpress.com) receives about 2000 visitors a day and that number is steadily growing.

So if you are interested in being a guest, please let me know.

    Send me an Email:
