Magic Kingdom| Fall 2010 Road Trip Day 3
We got up on our third day in Orlando and went Christmas shopping at an outlet mall that was located very near our hotel. Our tickets for the Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom were not good until 7p.m. but I had heard that you go inside the park around 4p.m. We actually didn’t get into the park until around 6p.m. It took us while since we had to park, ride the tram to the monorail station, and then take the monorail to Magic Kingdom. I thought that the park was not going to be crowded since the party was a limited event, but it must not have been that limited. It was extremely hard to walk anywhere, and we had to grab fast-passes for pretty much every ride we rode. We were able to get free hot chocolate and cookies throughout the park; this and the fireworks were pretty much the only perk of the Christmas party.
The castle was beautiful. I had visited here many years ago, and it was cool seeing it all decorated for Christmas.
We stayed for the fireworks and were thrilled that we did. They were excellent.
This park is geared towards younger children, and they don’t sell any alcoholic beverages at all. JJ and I both thought it would be great to grab a beer to drink while watching the fireworks but to no avail, not a beer in the whole place. That being said the fireworks were great, and we had a spot right at the start of main street where they were blowing the fake snow to enjoy the show. Our ticket for the party was about $50 and we spent only about 5 hours in the park which was plenty long for us. We did a few rides and enjoyed the sights and sounds. If you are planning on going to the Christmas party, be ready to deal with a crowded park. It might not have been as crowded as peak summer but it had to have been close.
Day 4 Disney Studios Coming Soon.
